The real world can be real tough on a dreamer.
I’m sure you’ve experienced this yourself in a variety of ways over the years. You’ve had to make sacrifices to make ends meet. You’ve had your fair share of setbacks, derailing all the plans you made.
This may have caused you to veer off the path you always pictured for your life.
And, when this happens, we sometimes trade in our ambitions for security. We swap our dreaming for moments of relaxing comfort after a long day.
The things that used to drive us may now be nostalgic afterthoughts we find ourselves contemplating in quiet moments of reflection.
But, I want you to realize something. You may have put your dreams on hold, but it is never too late to tune back into them and pursue them again.
I know that you may have a list a mile long of reasons that it’s not the right time to do this, but it’s never going to feel like the right time. It’s always going to feel scary because it is going to force you out of your comfort zone.
But, you owe it to yourself to go after the things that fill you with passion and purpose.
No matter what made you put your goals on hold before, whether it be fear or circumstance or uncertainty, decide to move forth with faith and courage.
Dig deep into the confines of your soul and reignite that flame that used to burn so bright. Envision what the world could look like if you were living out your true purpose.
This isn’t going to be easy. It’s going to require a long-term commitment to being uncomfortable. It’s going to require your active participation to keep going because you’re going to have to make this process a priority.
It’s going to scare you and it’s going to feel overwhelming at times because there are no short-cuts or quick fixes. Just sheer drive and determination.
You’re going to need to take a look at your habits and constantly check in with yourself and ask: Am I doing something today that is going to get me closer to where I want to be? Am I proud of the work that I’m putting in? Will I look back at today and wish that I had tried a little harder?
Because the regret you will feel from never going for it will hurt much more than any temporary discomfort and sacrifice you may need to make along the way.
I know that taking the leap is scary and that there are a lot of unknowns.
But, I also know that the dreamer inside of you is ready and waiting.
You were made to dream and to pursue.
So, consider this your first step into a new, more fulfilling life. Because you have always been capable of achieving greatness.
